A two-level gym has cutting-edge cardiovascular, strength, power and other equipment and is serviced by experienced strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and other specialists.
Stellenbosch University boasts a Sport Science Department – a first of its kind in South Africa - boasts modern facilities, including laboratories, an outdoor and indoor pool, squash courts and a modern gymnasium. Research focuses include biokinetics, sport performance enhancement, movement literacy, health and fitness industry, sport history and sport for persons with disabilities.
For the golf enthusiast there are three championship 18-hole golf courses in Stellenbosch, including Devonvale. Six more golf courses are within 30 minutes drive of the town.
Nature-lovers are spoilt for choice as horse trails and cycle trails meander through fynbos, mountains and vineyards. Where else but in a unique town like Stellenbosch, can you combine sport with epicurean delights, by embarking on a wine-tasting tour – on horseback!
