Three Day Tour
Three Day Tour
I am in Stellenbosch for three days - what can I do?
First of all, orientate yourself and explore historic and scenically beautiful Stellenbosch on foot. There are tours from the Stellenbosch 360 office daily at 11h00 and 15h00, or purchase a ‘Stellenbosch on Foot’ map and set forth on your own journey of discovery.
Make time for a visit to our museums and learn more about the fascinating history of this unique town. The Village Museum comprises restored houses from four different centuries and gives you a glimpse into South Africa and its history. Also not to be missed is the Toy Museum and the Stellenbosch University Art Museum and the Rupert Museum.
Stellenbosch is situated in the most beautiful natural valley. Numerous walks and hikes are available through the vineyards or in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve.
More than 200 wine farms are members of the Stellenbosch American Express® Wine Routes and are divided into five sub-regions: Greater Stellenbosch; Stellenboschberg; Helderberg; Stellenbosch Valley and Bottelary Hills.
Daily wine-tasting, cellar tours and sales are available at most cellars. Many have restaurant and picnic facilities as well as accommodation, gift shops, art galleries, amphitheatres, wildlife experiences and carriage rides, to name a few attractions and activities.
Good food and wine go hand-in-hand and, with over 70 restaurants to choose from, you will be spoiled for choice. Stellenbosch regularly features among South Africa’s Top 10 Restaurants.
Stellenbosch's friendly Kayamandi Township is well worth a visit. Join a Cultural Tour and meet the locals in their Spaza Shops and African Restaurants. The tour also includes a visit to crafters and community centres. Book an overnight Homestay, where you will have the opportunity to live with a local African family and be part of all the household rituals and food preparation.
